Carole J. Rondeau, 76

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carole Joan (Burdick) Rondeau, 76, of North Adams died Saturday July 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born in North Adams on August 10, 1939, daughter of Karol and Ida Dorothy (Chaperone) Burdick. She attended Drury High School.

Carole was last employed by Horry County Schools in Conway, S.C., until her retirement. In 1956, she was the first member of the Northern Berkshire Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol to receive the Merit Award.  

Carole was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
   
She was the widow of Thomas G. Rondeau, who died on April 29, 1985. They were married in 1959.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia D. Rondeau and her husband Thomas Heller of North Adams and Lucinda M. McCarthy of Conway, S.C.; three sons, Alan T. Rondeau of Pittsfield, William J. Rondeau and his wife Jeanine of Dalton and Timothy A. Rondeau of North Adams; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Cowie and her husband Douglas of the state of Florida and Marilyn Boesse and her husband Ralph of North Adams; one brother, Donald Burdick of Pittsfield; and nieces and nephews.  

A daughter, Jean Langdon, died April 16, 2014.

Funeral notice: A graveside service for Carole Rondeau will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Southview cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pavilion in the Clarksburg State Forest.  Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
