Dorothy Choquette, 92
TYRINGHAM, Mass. — Dorothy Choquette, 92, of Main Road in Tyringham, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington.
She was born on March 19, 1924, in Sunderland, Mass., the daughter of William and Julia Dunbar Taylor.
Mrs. Choquette loved her family and loved being a homemaker. She also enjoyed all things outdoors. She was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler and birder. She and her late husband Harvey shared a love of gardening and enjoyed preserving the harvest each year.
She is predeceased by her husband, Harvey J. Choquette, whom she married on June 16, 1941; he died on October 10, 1996. She is also predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Ann Choquette.
Mrs. Choquette is survived by two sons, Edward Choquette of Great Barrington and Robert Choquette and his wife Susan of Tyringham; one sister, Hester Dangel of Glendora, N.J.; three grandchildren, Sandra, Aubrey and Noah; and three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Jackson and Gavin.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lee, with burial to follow in Tyringham Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Friends so wishing may make donations in her memory to Visitation Monastery, Mont Deux Coeurs, Tyringham, n c/o of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA, 01238.
