Josephine Granger, 92

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Josephine Anne (Dudek) Granger, 92, of Adams died early Tuesday morning, August 16, 2016, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in Adams on January 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Peter J. and Stefania C. (Wojnarowska) Dudek. She graduated from St. Stanislaus Elementary School in 1938, and from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1942.

Mrs. Granger was a secretary for the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District, working first at the former Adams High School, and later at Hoosac Valley High School, for 27 years until retiring. Earlier, she had worked as a secretary at the former South Adams Savings Bank.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams, where she volunteered for many parish activities, and was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne and the St. John Paul Rosary Sodality. She had also enjoyed traveling.

Her husband, Clovis J. Granger, whom she married on October 20, 1945, died on July 10, 2009.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Misiuk and her husband Stanley of Adams; two sons, Dale Granger and his wife Marlena of Belleair Beach, Fla., and Lane Granger and his wife Patty of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Chad Misiuk of Orlando, Fla., Noah Misiuk and his wife Monique of Adams, Melanie Misiuk of Orlando, Fla., Joshua Granger and his wife Alyson of San Francisco, Calif., Tiffany Frautschi and her husband Tyler of St. Louis, Mo., Natalie Biggie and her husband Jeramy of Virginia Beach, Va., Nicole Granger of San Diego, Calif., Christopher Granger of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew Juillerat and his wife Jessica of San Diego, Calif., and Michael Juillerat and his wife Abby of San Diego, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Daisy Dudek; and by three brothers, Walter, Stanley and Edwin Dudek.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Thursday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Members of the St. John Paul Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. to pay their respects and conduct their prayer service.
