 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elizabeth Mary Dassatti, 91, of 82 Furnace St. died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at her home.
Born in Monroe Bridge on March 10, 1921, a daughter of Cherubino and Annie Donati Maroni, she lived in Monroe Bridge for a short time before moving to North Adams, where she graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1940.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Dassatti was employed at the former Arnold Print Works in Adams.
She will best be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to bake and knit. She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was very active in the water aerobics at the Northern Berkshire YMCA.
Her husband, Erminio V. "Ernie" Dassatti, whom she married on Aug. 30, 1947, died on April 2, 1997.
She leaves a daughter, Mary Ann Dassatti and her husband, Eric Gross, of Holyoke; four sons, Ed Dassatti and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Loudonville, N.Y., Carey Dassatti and his wife, Peggy, of Barrington, Ill., Richard Dassatti and his wife, Sheila, of North Adams, and Robert Dassatti and his wife, Tracy, of Laconia, N.H.; a brother, Maurice "Buddy" Maroni and his wife, Barbara, of Cape Coral, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Maroni of North Adams, and nieces and nephews.
Her brother Henry J. Maroni is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral for Mrs. Dassatti will be Saturday, Feb. 2, at 9:45 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 1, from 3 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
