Doris Ann Rennell, 84

ADAMS, Mass. Doris Ann Rennell, 84, of 17 Pleasant St. died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Williamstown Commons. Born on Vashon Island, King County, Wash., on July 20, 1928, daughter of Harold and Alice Cronin Stevens, she attended schools in Stamford, Vt., and graduated with honors from Drury High School in North Adams with the class of 1946. She also attended the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. Mrs. Rennell was primarily a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished artist and was well known for her portraits of local people. She attended the First Baptist Church in North Adams. She enjoyed genealogy and researched 55 generations of her family. She was also an expert seamstress and a voracious reader, and enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Clarence Rennell, whom she married on Sept. 17, 1949, died on June 8, 1986. She leaves a son, Brian D. Rennell and his wife, Bonnie Law Rennell, of North Adams; a daughter, Terry Lynn Roy and her husband, Richard, of Brevard, N.C.; a sister, Betty J. Kelley of North Adams; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Dale Rennell Bouvier in 2001 and her brother, Harold R. Stevens. FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral for Mrs. Rennell will be Friday, Feb. 15, at 6 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
