Barbara M. Crawford, 82
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Barbara Marie Crawford, 82, of Eagle Street died peacefully on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 5, 1933, the daughter of Andrew and Nancy Fumento DiLorenzo, she attended schools in North Adams. Her most amazing feat, besides raising her two children, was to return to school at the age of 57 and earn an associate degree in science from Greenfield Community College, of which she was very proud.
Ms. Crawford had been employed at the former CB Sports and various manufacturing companies in the North Adams area as a sewing machine operator until she retired.
She loved reading books, playing bingo and, in her earlier years, bowling. Her family was her greatest joy and she always took pleasure in spending time with them.
She leaves a daughter, Debra Lane and her husband, Richard, of Shelburne; two sons, Raymond Crawford of North Adams and Andrew Crawford of Bennington, Vt.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard DiLorenzo and her sister, Lucia Potvin.
