Angelina's Subs
Angelina's Subs has become a Northern Berkshires institution since opening for business more than 50 years ago. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the sandwich shop has two convenient locations in Adams and North Adams.
The signature sandwich is the Original, formerly known as "The Regular," made with cooked salami, bologna, cheese, a little oil and Italian seasonings. It's available in 12-inch, wrap, 8-inch "mini," or the even smaller 4-inch "lite" form. (For only $3.20 apiece, the 4-inch subs offer you a chance to sample several of Angelina's sandwiches, let alone practice portion control.)
In addition to cold subs, the menu includes hot grinders (Italian meatball, hot sausage or eggplant, to name a few) and burger subs (with or without cheese). There are cheese and tomato, eggplant and grilled vegetable subs for those who don't eat meat. Feeling especially hungry? Add extra meat, vegetables, cheese or bacon to your sandwich, or put some green into your life with one of the menu's five salads, (garden, chef, grilled chicken and more) made fresh on the premises.
Angelina's has a daily 8-inch sub special for $2.99, and a weekly foot-long special for $3.99. Sunday, the Original 8-inch is only $2.85 – the perfect treat while you watch an afternoon ball game. Having a party or special event? Call and ask about Angelina's sub and wrap platters, sliced meat and cheese platters, or 3-foot sandwiches.
You don't have to wait until lunch to enjoy Angelina's – stop by in the morning for bagels, toast or an egg sandwich. Call ahead and have your order ready for pickup when you arrive. If you keep late hours, you're in luck: Both locations are open until midnight.
