Manny's Pizza Q&A

Q & A with Manny's Pizza Owner/Chef Maria Santos

Q.   You have opened a successful restaurant. At the end of the day, what accomplishment makes you the most proud?

We enjoy good feedback from the customers, also listening to what they say and try to apply those changes. Also putting out good food for good people.

Q What are some of the challenges of being a restaurant owner and manager?

Always trying to do your best, and improving the food quality and taste of each dish. The main goal is to always try and please the customer. Having passion for your food is very important otherwise why do it.

Q. How would you describe your restaurant?

Our restaurant is Italian, with a little taste of Portuguese flavor.

Q. What is your signature dish?

We take great pride in our pizza and always recommend people to try a slice.

Q. How did you come up with the idea for your restaurant?

Had a restaurant in Portugal, then owned a Dunkin Donuts, and then opened up Manny’s Pizza, so always being involved in the restaurant business made us open up this place.

Q. What is your favorite ingredient?

We love to use olive oil, garlic, and fresh herbs, and flour.

Q. Who were your biggest influences/inspirations for becoming a chef?

We have been inspired by our customers, we love to cook food and we love to make people happy. I always cooked for my father as a child growing up and have just loved it ever since. Always looking to try new flavors and a new way to present it.
