Korean Garden Restaurant Q&A

Q&A with Korean Garden Owner/Chef Jenny Pae

Q. What are you working on right now?

We have just opened our outside seating for the summer. Outside the front of the restaurant we have a few tables for dining when the weather is nice.

Q. Tell us about your career path. How did you get your start?.

We have worked in the restaurant business for over 15 years. We had a restaurant in Boston that did very well. We decided to bring the success to North Adams and open up Korean Garden with a new and vibrant menu.

Q What are some of the challenges of being a restaurant owner and manager?

This is a family run restaurant; everyone works well with each other by showing our passion and love for the food and service.

Q: What should first-time visitors try?

One of our favorite and most popular dishes to try when coming in for the first time would have to be the “Hot stone pot” and the “Bulgogi” which is marinated thinly sliced sirloin with special sauce.

Q. How did you come up with the idea for your restaurant?

The idea for this restaurant came with lots of experience in the business and working with the right people. We have always noticed people have an obsession for good Asian food and well prepared sushi. Also being in North Adams close to our family had made the transition that much easier.

Q. What is your favorite ingredient?

We have a lot of spicy dishes, so ingredients such as kimchi and chili pepper are used in a many of our recipes

"It's going to take great restraint not to eat lunch here every single day. I've been twice since they opened (once to dine in and once for take-out), and it's been delicious and reasonably priced both times. It's so nice to have a new choice for delicious, affordable, authentic cuisine in NAMA!"

"Already had food here 4 times. Authentic, delicious food. This is just what North Adams was missing! "
