Clayton Leads Wahconah Past Taconic in Western Mass Semis

DALTON, Mass. -- Tim Clayton threw for three touchdowns Friday night to lead the Wahconah football team to a 48-0 win over Taconic in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 7 tournament.
 
Clayton opened the scoring with a 6-yard toss to Tanner Hill.
 
Wahconah then scored three times in the second quarter to take a 26-0 lead into half-time. First, Connor Noyes ran it in from the 2. Then Clayton connected with Dylan Melle for a 15-yard score. Finally, Tom Burris caught a 23-yard TD.
 
Nate Zink ran in a 5-yard score to start the second half. And Wahconah reserves Quinn Gallagher and Ian Graham ran in for scores in the fourth quarter.
 
First-seeded Wahconah (8-1) faces South Hadley in next week’s sectional final. The Tigers Friday earned a 44-14 win over Frontier Regional.
