It was a great week to be a Wahconah student-athlete.

But, then again, most weeks are at the Western Mass powerhouse.

Wahconah’s boys soccer team and girls soccer team each earned wins and its cross country team hosted its Senior Day races beneath glorious sunny skies.

The school’s volleyball and football teams? They produced this week’s iBerkshires.com/Bedard Bros. Athletes of the Week: Tanner Hastings and Emma Parkington.

On Friday night, Hastings scored three touchdowns, including two in the second half as Wahconah erased a one-point deficit and went on to a 40-19 win over Minnechaug on Senior Night.

Wahconah is 7-0 heading into this Friday’s showdown against 6-1 West Springfield.

Like the football team, Wahconah’s volleyball squad is assured a place in the Western Massachusetts tournament and is playing the final week of the regular season to lock up a good seed.

On Wednesday, Parkington had 11 kills and eight digs in a straight-set win over Mount Everett.

The senior is a big reason why Wahconah is 13-5 going into Monday’s showdown against Mount Greylock.

On the year, she has a team-best 160 kills and a 42 percent hitting percentage. She also has 33 aces and leads the team in blocks.

iBerkshires.com’s Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Bedard Bros. Auto of Cheshire.
