Mounties Throw Past Monument, Win 28th Straight

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass — The Mount Greylock football team (2-0) has one of the best running games in the county but this week they came out with a wrinkle in their offense, scoring their first two touchdowns on passing plays as they went on to beat Monument 38-14 on Friday night.

Mountie quarterback Hank Barrett hooked up with Brett McCormack for a 23-yard score and followed it up with a 21-yard touchdown to Eric Leitch.  Barrett finished the day with three completions for 53 yards and threw his two touchdowns in the first quarter.

After exploiting Monument (0-2) with passing game, the Mounties went back to the ground where they compiled 180 yards on the night.  In the second quarter alone, running back Ethan Ryan scored three touchdowns, he finished with 79 yards rushing.  Daivon Clement chipped in with 53 yards and Mike McCormack added 27 yards and a score.

Mount Greylock extended its win streak to 28 games.  They play Taconic (1-1) on Saturday night at 7pm at Wahconah Park.
