One wears Drury blue. One wears the red of Hoosac Valley.

One terrorizes defenses with strong, accurate shots from well outside the 18. One is part of a defense that has three shutouts under its belt so far this fall.

Both seniors are this week's iBerkshires.com/Bedard Bros. Athletes of the Week.

Conor Clark has seven goals this season for the Drury boys soccer team, the winner of five straight. The strong-legged center mid had a productive week in a 3-0 stretch for the Blue Devils.

He started the week with a goal against Mohawk and then added a hat trick in a 5-0 win over rival Hoosac Valley under the lights on Tuesday.

Jessica Halverson and the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team has just one loss this season and is unbeaten in its last five games.

Three of its four wins have been shutouts, a credit to the work of the defensive unit, including Halverson, which has allowed six goals in seven games.

Both Athletes of the Week and their teams face tough challenges in the week ahead.

The Hoosac Valley girls go to Mount Greylock on Monday and finish the week at home against Swampscott, a team that already has beaten Monument Mountain and Lenox this fall.

Clark and the Drury boys have a rematch with Mount Everett, which the Devils beat, 2-1, last month and a night game at MCLA against 2016 Division 4 State Champion Monson before going to Mount Greylock on Columbus Day.

The iBerkshires.com Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Bedard Bros. of Cheshire.
