PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The West Springfield boys soccer team scored twice in the second half on Saturday to hand Pittsfield a 2-1 loss at Kirvin Park.

The Generals (5-1-2) opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Hedi Abderrahim’s corner kick was deflected into the net off the West Springfield keeper.

“In the second half West Side came out tough and determined,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. :They scored early off a free kick to tie. From there we seemed to lose our momentum and couldn't find get the ball out of our defensive end.”

The visitors got the game-winner in the 63rd minute off when Alec Kidman scored off a long throw-in.

“We had a few looks at goal in the last five minutes of the game but it wasn't enough,” Antil said.

Jon Bile made four saves for Pittsfield, which goes to East Longmeadow on Thursday night.
