PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Minnechaug’s Joe Albano scored in the fourth minute to propel his team to a 2-0 win over Pittsfield on Friday at Kirvin Park.

“We came out a little flat to start, and our heads weren't really in it,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “Minnechaug came out with a high press demanding that be at our very sharpest. We had trouble finding the focus and energy we needed in the first half to really get the ball forward.

“In the second we found a good bit of momentum and got unlucky on several occasions. In the end I think we let frustration get the best of us. Much to learn from today though.”

Ryan Leary tacked on an insurance goal late for ‘Chaug.

Avi Snowise stopped six shots for the Generals (2-1), who travel to Lenox on Thursday.
