Lee, Mount Everett Girls Play to a Draw

LEE, Mass. -- Gwen Carpenter scored her second goal of the game on a direct kick in the 69th minute on Tuesday to give the Mount Everett girls soccer team a 2-2 tie at Lee.
 
Karli Retzel scored twice for the Wildcats. The first time, she tied the game midway through the first half. The second time, she gave Lee a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute.
 
“This was a very competitive and evenly matched game,” Lee coach Lauren Finnegan said. “Both teams had ample opportunities for goals.”
 
Brianna Hawley stopped eight shots for Lee (7-7-1), which hosts Drury on Thursday.
 
Mount Everett got six saves from Madison Ullrich. The Eagles host Taconic on Thursday.
