SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Madeline VonRuden scored two goals and assisted on a third Thursday to lead the Mount Everett girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over McCann Tech.

Hannah Race and Madison Ullrich each scored a goal as the Eagles (3-6-1) more than equaled their scoring output from their first nine games this fall and won their second straight.

“The girls continued their momentum from the game on Tuesday versus Drury,” Mount Everett coach Jessica Murtagh said. “I think we really have turned the corner offensively. But today I saw them finally play with confidence -- they have it in them to play good soccer, they just needed to believe it.”

Madison Ullrich and Madeleine Soudant combined to make nine saves in the shutout win.

Sarah Fortini stopped 13 shots for McCann Tech (1-10), which goes to Smith Academy on Wednesday.

Mount Everett takes a three-game unbeaten streak into Tuesday’s game at Lenox.
