Tobin Backstops Pittsfield Girls to Shutout Win over Rival Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Haley Tobin stopped seven shots, and the Pittsfield girls soccer team scored four first-half goals to earn a 4-0 win over Taconic and the Generals’ second straight shutout win on Thursday at Kirvin Park.
 
Julia Eline-Wright and Lizzie Swanson got things started with a goal apiece in the first four minutes of the game.
 
With about seven minutes left in the half, Britney Perkett headed home a Sadie Supranowicz corner kick to make it 3-0. Nicole Brindle added some insurance four minutes later with her first career varsity goal.
 
Perkett and Eline-Wright each ended with a goal and an assist.
 
Jackie Boateng made 15 saves for Taconic (6-7), which goes to Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
 
Pittsfield (3-6-3) goes to Chicopee Comp on Saturday morning.
