Bateman's Hat Trick Lifts Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Jenna Bateman had a natural hat trick, and the Taconic girls soccer team scored five unanswered goals Thursday to earn a 5-1 win over Drury.
 
Caroline Cellana scored in the third minute to give Drury an early lead, but Sydnie Sherman got Taconic on the board with 12 minutes, 30 seconds left in the first half.
 
After going to the break tied, 1-1, Bateman scored three straight to start the second half before Shayla Fitzgerald added an insurance goal.
 
Mackenzie Dobbert made 13 saves for the Blue Devils (2-14), who go to Mount Everett on Monday.
 
Jackie Boateng stopped four shots for Taconic (7-10), who finishes at home Monday against Lenox.
