West Springfield Tops Hoosac Valley Girls

The Hoosac Valley girls’ soccer team fell to West Springfield, 3-0, on Friday with three second half goals.

 

“It was the best game we played all season, everyone on the team played as hard as they could and we did very well," Hoosac coach Kirstin Holmgren said.

despite the 3-0 loss.

 

The Hurricanes had some great plays up the field, giving them a few opportunities to put the ball on net, but we unable to capitalize on those chances.

 

West Springfield’s goals came from Kathryn O’Brien, Sharlotte Dernice, and Wylee Candon.

 

Hoosac needed to beat West Springfield and win its next two to make the Western Massachusetts tournament.

 

The Hurricanes will travel to Lee on Monday afternoon and face rival Drury for its final game of the season on Wednesday Oct. 29.
