NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Claudia Bresset scored two goals, and the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team scored five times in the second half to pull away for an 8-0 win over Drury on Friday.

Alie Mendel had a goal and two assists, and Ellie Field, Sydni Jamros, Mia Gale, Shaleigh Levesque and Lilly Boudreau each scored once for the Hurricanes (1-0).

“Hoosac outplayed us the whole game,” Drury coach Maryjane Rumbolt said. “We struggled to keep up with their fast pace of moving the ball around the field.  We were able to get a few shots off, but couldn't put anything in the net.”

Kelsey Bulson made one save to earn the shutout in goal.

Alyssa Russel stopped 13 shots in net for Drury (1-1), which goes to Lenox on Tuesday.

Hoosac Valley goes to Austin Prep on Monday.
