ADAMS, Mass. -- The Wahconah and Hoosac Valley girls soccer teams showed Monday that they are both ready for prime time, playing to a 1-1 tie under the lights at Renfrew Park.

Claudia Bressett gave Hoosac a 1-0 lead, and Jess Duma tied it with a rocket from outside the box to help Wahconah stay .500 this fall.

“Both teams played a fun game under the lights,” Hoosac coach Kathy Budaj said. :In the first half we moved the ball well and had some great opportunities, and Shaleigh Levesque made a great play on the outside and then served the ball in to Claudia Bresett to score.”

In the second half, Allison Washburn set up Duma for a shot that sailed just under the crossbar to tie it.

Budaj said the Hurricanes (3-1-2) had some chances to go back ahead late, but Michaela Moncecchi (eight saves) proved to be the difference in Wahconah’s goal.

Kelsey Bulson made four saves for the Hurricanes, who go to Taconic on Thursday.

Wahconah is at Westfield on Saturday.
