This week's Southwestern Vermont Medical Center/iBerkshires.com Athletes of the Week each helped his or her team stay unbeaten through two weeks of the season.

The Monument Mountain boys cross country team has gone 4-0 in dual meets at the first two races of the season, and both times, sophomore Diego Salinetti has led the way.

On Wednesday, Salinetti edged Taconic's Jacob Paris by less than two seconds to earn his first place finish of the season.

Like his Spartans, the Mount Greylock girls soccer team has opened up the year 4-0.

Junior Clara McWeeny has been a key part of a Mounties offense that is averaging four goals per game.

She leads the team in assists with four and has scored six of her own goals, one off the team lead.

This week, she had three goals and two assists -- playing a part in each of the team's tallies in wins over Monument Mountain and Lenox.

This week, Mount Greylock hosts Drury before making its first road trip of the year to Dalton to take on Wahconah.

Salinetti and the Monument Mountain harriers head to Lenox on Wednesday.

The iBerkshires.com Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
