LENOX, Mass. -- Shelby Lynch had a hat trick, and Nicole Gamberoni scored twice Thursday to lead the Lenox girls soccer team to a 5-1 win over Smith.

“Shelby Lynch had a great game and was shooting the ball very well tonight, scoring her goals in a number of different ways,” Lenox coach Kyle Zinchuk said. “Her first was a great shot from range, about 25 yards out. Then she scored on a breakaway, using her speed and placing the ball well, and her final goal was a great shot taken from a tough angle toward the side of the 18 that she rang off the inside of the far post.”

Shannon Meisberger made four saves to earn the win.

“Shannon had a terrific save on a PK, diving to her right and knocking away a shot that was placed very well into the lower left corner,” Zinchuk said. “Hopefully, we can build some momentum from this game.”

Lenox (10-4-1) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
