PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Molly Flynn scored in the 46th minute to snap a scoreless tie and send the Monument Mountain girls soccer team on to a 2-0 win over Taconic on Wednesday.

 

Lenah Helmke scored 13 minutes later for the Spartans, who outshot Taconic, 27-1.

 

“Tough game, Taconic coach Jenna Giardina said. “Monument had the ball in our half the whole game. Defense had a great effort.”

 

Leeyiah Hoose made 25 saves for Taconic (0-8), which hosts McCann Tech on Friday.

 

Helen Pajeski earned the shutout in goal for the Spartans (4-3), who host Lenox on Friday.
