NORTH ADAM, Mass. — Reece Racette on Tuesday broke Drury High School's all-time scoring record at Drury in a blow-out win over Ludlow, 95-39, in Bucky Bullett Gymnasium.

It was a memorable night for the Blue Devils (15-5) as they celebrated Senior Night in their last game of the regular season. It was an even bigger night for senior Racette, who scored 29 points, making him the school's all-time leading scorer. He passed Glenn Tatro in the third quarter to become the leading boys scorer in Drury history and shortly after that he surpassed Taylor DeSanty's school record of 1,372.

Racette finished the night with 1,374 career points heading into next week's Western Massachusetts Division 4 tournament.

"It's a good accomplishment and something I will remember forever, but now I have that next goal," Racette said. "I want to win Western Mass, It's not about the points, but I would like to thank all my teammates and coaches, I wouldn't have been able to do it without them."

Racette has been playing on varsity since his freshman year, and it's easy to see all the hard work and dedication he has put into his career thus far as a Blue Devil.

"He deserves it, he worked at it and on Senior Night it couldn't be a better time," his head coach and father Jack Racette said. "He was giving up baskets throughout the game, he's an unselfish player and, as a parent, kids put in what they get out and he's put a lot of work in so it was pretty emotional."

Reece Racette scored 14 of his points in the first half and you could tell his teammates were feeding him the ball once that record started to come in sight.

The Blue Devils were never in any trouble and really put this game to bed early. They led, 59-18, and in limited minutes junior Scott McGuire scored 18 points. Tim Brazeau and Hunter Sarkis each added 10. It was a nice easy game at the end of the season as they get ready for the tournament. Drury was able to use their bench and get some big minutes from bench players. a big factor that could come in hand come tourney time. All 11 players contributed with points that played as they eased past Ludlow in the second half just like the first.

With the regular season overall that is left for the Blue Devils is their seeding in the D4 Western Mass tournament. With the season they have had and the strength of schedule, Drury will be looking at one of the top seeds in the tournament and after a semi-finals loss last year they will have their heights set on winning it this year.

"We have to get healthy, it's been a long grind, but we won't have any days off," Jack Racette said when talking about preparation for the tournament. "We'll get in the gym and work on individual stuff and keep shooting the ball, We were 3-for-24 last night at Taconic and got beat, but we come back home and shoot lights out, We missed open looks and come tournament time we can't miss open looks."

The Western Mass seedings will be announced Saturday at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.
