BUCKLAND, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock girls track and field team won the Western Massachusetts Team Heptathlon competition at Mohawk Trail Regional on Friday.
The Mounties’ team of Maddie Albert, Ella Dudley and Brandi Gill earned 13 points to edge teams from South Hadley, Southwick and Westfield.
Albert won the 800 meter run in 2 minutes, 25 seconds, and Dudley won the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 7 inches.
The Mount Greylock boys finished third in a five-team Team Decathlon competition won by Mohawk.
Ric Donati, Jacob Adams and Sam Edge competed for the Mounties. Donati placed second in three events: the discus (86-6), the javelin (117-9) and the shot put (31-11).
