High School Bowling League Gets Season Under Way

PITTSFIELD, Mass. --  Nickolas Johnson rolled a 259 game and a 460 series on Friday to lead the Drury bowling team to a 16-15 win over Pittsfield at Ken's Bowl on opening day for the Berkshire County bowling league.
 
Alesia Yeaton backed up Johnson with a 162 game and a 314 series for the Blue Devils.
 
The high game and series for the day were turned in by Monument Mountain's Tom Hankey Jr., who rolled a 278 and a 524 series.
 
Taconic's Lindsey Aldam was the top girl on opening day with a 248 game and a 469 series.
 
Wahconah recorded the day's top team score, outpointing Lee's Black quad, 25-6, to grab first place in the league standings.
 
Other team winners were McCann over Taconic, Lee's Wildcats over Mount Everett and Mount Greylock over Monument Mountain.
 
The action shifts to South County on Friday when the league bowls at Cove Lanes.
