LEE, Mass. -- Henry Sniezek carded a 4-over-par 39 on Monday to lead the Hoosac Valley golf team to a 172-181 win over Lee at Greenock Country Club.

Sniezek’s round included a birdie on the 184-yard, par-3 seventh hole.

Teammate Derek Alibozek birdied the 444-yard, par-4 fifth hole on his way to a 44. The Hurricanes’ scoring was rounded out by Luc Trombley with a 42 and Hayden Grimes with a 47.

“Hoosac is a very good team,” Lee coach Matt Carlino said. “They haven’t played at Greenock in a few years. For some of them, this is their first time playing the course. Luc Trombley
came in with a very good round in the 5 spot. We needed to play our best to beat them and we didn’t.”

Thomas Fraser earned medalist honors with a 2-over 37 for the Wildcats (2-2). Camden Redstone finished at 45 after birdying the 473-yard, par-5 sixth hole. Dylan Boomsma (51) and Colin Durkin (53) rounded out the scoring for Lee.

“Thomas Fraser was medalist and did his part,” Carlino said. “Camden Redstone stepped up with a 45. We have had each guy come in with a good round, but not together as a group. Hoosac did and hats off to them.”

Hoosac Valley is at Mount Greylock on Thursday. Lee goes to Taconic on Friday.
