Monument's McAllister Breaks Course Record; Mounties Pick Up Team Wins

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Monument Mountain had members of both the girls and boys cross country teams run away with first-place finishes Tuesday afternoon against Mount Greylock, Drury, and Lee at Monument Mountain’s 3-mile course.

For the boys, Ace McAllister set a course record with a time of 15 minutes, 58 seconds, and for the girls, Caroline Bissaillon finished at 20:55.

Although, Monument had McAllister finish in first; the Mount Greylock boys dominated the race. Eight of their runners finished in the top 10.

Carter Stripp (16:46) chased McAllister across the finish line and was followed by teammates Tommy Kirby, Will Nolan, Sam Kobrin, Jake Kobrin and John Driver before Monument's Jesse Rogers came in eighth.

On the girls side; the sea coming into the finish line was a mixture of maroon and red.

Monument's and Mount Greylock's girls battled straight to the finish line for the better times, but Mount Greylock ended up on top with seven of their girls finishing in the top 10 opposed to Monument’s three.

Laura Galib (20:56) in second finished just a secnod behind Bissaillon. Emma Polumbo, Grace Smith, Ariel Dupras, Niku Darafshi and Anya Sheldon finished in the top eight for the Mounties.

The Monument boys ended up falling to Mount Greylock 20-42, but defeated Drury 15-50. Lee also beat Drury 15-50.

For the girls; Mount Greylock beat Monument 24-36, Monument defeated Drury 15-50, and Lee fell to Drury 31-24. Hayley Shook led the Blue Devils' girls team with a time of 24:19 to crack the top 20.
