Locals Compete at State Golf Championships

MILLIS, Mass. -- Monument Mountain's Owen Hunter was the top county finisher at the Massachusetts Division 2 Championships at Glen Ellen Country Club on Monday.

 

Hunter carded an 86, behind winner A.J. Guidotti of Somerset, who finished at 71, but just ahead of Mount Greylock's Matt Wiseman and Kyle Alvarez, who each finished at 89.

 

Drury's Doug Sigsbury was a little further back at 102.

 

The four county entrants played as individuals on Monday.

 

The team competition in D2 went to Wayland.

 

At the Division 1 tournament in West Springfield, Taconic's Mitch Omelenchuck carded a very respectable 76 on a day when state medalist honors went to Lexington's Jack Lang with an eye-popping 68 at Springfield Country Club.
