Pedersen Named County's Boys Track MVP

Jumper and hurdler Grady Pedersen of Pittsfield High School is the 2017 All-Berkshire Track and Field most valuable player, the league's coaches announced on Wednesday morning.
 
Pedersen leads the Generals' contingent of five athletes on the all-county team.
 
He is joined by PHS teammates sprinter Emmanuel Amenlemah, thrower Eamon McCandless, hurdler Jackson Rich and jumper Nate Robarge.
 
Taconic's Tyrel Council was honored as the all-Berkshire field MVP for his performance in the throws.
 
Drury miler Connor Meehan was recognized as the league's track MVP.
 
Joining Council on the all league team from Taconic are Zach Gage, Abdul Ahmed and Drew Armstrong.
 
Wahconah and Mount Greylock each put three athletes on the all-league team. For Wahconah, Matt Lighten, Sean Harvey and Max McIlquham were named.
 
The Mounties are represented by Cameronn Castonguay, Owen Brandriss and Sam Culver.
 
Monument Mountain's Matt Weston and Jordan Piepho also made the list, which is rounded out by Hoosac Valley's Dom Acquista and Lenox's Spencer Villinski.
