McCann Tech Harriers Compete at PVIAC Championshps

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The McCann Tech girls cross country team Saturday placed 20th out of 24 teams at the Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championships at Stanley Park.
 
Junior Aubrey Tetlow was the top finisher for the McCann Tech-Drury coop team, placing 106th in a teim of 23 minutes, 56 seconds over the 5-kilomerter course.
 
The girls race was won by Amherst's Sophia Jacobs-Townsley in 18:12 as her Hurricanes won the team title with 39 points, 30 points ahead of runner-up Northampton.
 
Tetlow was followed across the finish line by teammates Madison Goddell, Arianna Vincent, Jessica Charron, Megan Meczywor and Madison Tatro.
 
In the boys race, Amherst's Jack Yanko finished first in a time of 15:17, but Northampton took the team title with 51 points, edging Holyoke (63 points).
 
McCann's top finisher was Jonathan Rumgay in 20:24, good for 170th place. He was joined by teammates Braedon Delmolino, Jacob Newton, Adam Krutiak, Bradley O'Dell and Jacob Swan. The Hornets finished 30th in the 30-team field.
