ADAMS, Mass. -- Dalton Tatro carded a 37 at Forest Park Thursday to earn medalist honors and lead the McCann Tech to a 23.5-.5 win over Sabis as the Hornets earned the first golf league championship in school history.

"The guys are very excited to be able to hang the school's first team golf banner in the gym," McCann Tech coach Justin Kratz said. "We are hoping to carry the momentum of our regular season into the Western Mass tournament next week and put up a strong showing."

McCann Tech ends the regular season 11-3 overall and 11-1 in its league.

On Thursday, the Hornets swept all the individual matches and saw Nash Morin card his career best score for nine holes of competitive golf, a 42. Ryan Baran (45) and Matt Jette (46) also put up strong numbers for McCann Tech. Chris Rose and Carson Marsh each picked up a win in the sweep.

"I am very proud of the team and how they developed over the season," Kratz said. "They came into the season with a mission after just missing the league championship last season, and they accomplished it.

"It's a great group of kids who have represented the school well and deserve it."

The Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament is next Tuesday at Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown.
