Joyner's Late Goal Gives Mount Everett Icers Tie with Drury

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Max Joyner scored in the final minute Monday to give the Mount Everett hockey team a 4-4 tie against Drury in a back-and-forth game at the Berkshire School.
 
The Blue Devils scored first and led, 2-1, after one period on goals from Kelsey Haley and Josh Favre.
 
But the Eagles, who got a goal from Dylan Boomsma in the first, got tallies from Jake Corcoran and Andrew Conlon in the second to go ahead, 3-2.
 
In the third period, Drury’s Mitch Andrews scored two goals 10 seconds apart on assist from Brennan McGowan and Hoby MacWhinnie to give the Blue Devils a 4-3 lead.
 
But with 53 seconds on the clock, Brendan Dempsey and Conlon set up Joyner for the tying goal.
 
Nate Haley stopped 31 shots in net for Drury.
 
Mount Everett got 23 stops from Jack Seward-Dailey.
 
The Eagles go to Shepaug on Friday. Drury hosts Chicopee Comp on Wednesday.
