Mount Greylock Volleyball Uses Experience, Depth to Top Mount Everett

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Marley Buffis had eight kills and eight digs Wednesday to lead the Mount Greylock volleyball team to a three-set win over Mount Everett.
 
Buffis also served up five aces as the Mounties prevailed, 25-11, 25-14, 25-8.
 
“Mount Greylock, with eight seniors, used its experience to take the match against a young Mount Everett squad,” Mounties coach Greg Geyer said. “Ten Mount Greylock athletes recorded aces, and 11 recorded kills.”
 
Lucy Sheppard had seven kills and four aces, and Maddie Albert had five kills, nine assists and four aces. Gabby Alvarez notched nine assists and had two aces.
 
For the Eagles, Ashley Atwood had a pair of kills, an ace and a dig, and Lizzy Sarnacki had three digs. Brooke Wells recorded a block, and Laynie Mullen recorded a pair of digs and an assist.
 
Mount Everett hosts Turners Falls on Friday. Mount Greylock hosts Amherst on Saturday.
