South Hadley Hockey Team Hands Mount Everett Season-Opening Loss

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Joe Meon had a goal and an assist Saturday to lead the South Hadley hockey team to a 3-0 win over Mount Everett.
 
After a scoreless first period, the Tigers got goals from Ryan Tuckee and Meon in the second period. Dan Sullivan scored early in the third to put the game out of reach.
 
Cole Duval played a strong game in goal, making 40 saves for the Eagles (0-1), who were oushot by a margin of 43-13.
 
Mount Everett goes to North Adams to face Drury on Wednesday.
