Boomsma's Hat Trick Lifts Mount Everett Icers

WASHINGTON, Conn. -- Dylan Boomsma recorded a hat trick Tuesday to lead the Mount Everett hockey team to a 5-1 win over Shepaug.
 
Boomsma opened the scoring with an assist from Brendan Hayden early in the first period.
 
Cam Raifstanger scored unassisted to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.
 
In the second period, Boomsma scored and Cooper Shepardson converted an assist by Boomsma to make it 4-0.
 
After Shepaug got a goal back in the final minute of the second, Boomsma pushed the lead back to four goals early in the third with assists from Hayden and Josh Hunter.
 
Jack Seward-Daily made seven saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Mount Everett goes to Easthampton on Wednesday.
