Mount Everett Icers Win in Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. -- Jake Corcoran scored two goals to lead the Mount Everett hockey team to a 4-1 win over Newtown, Conn., on Monday.
 
Adam Derwitsch scored the game's first goal, and Cocorcoran scored twice on assists by Jacob Malicky to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the first period.
 
After Newtown scored late in the first, David Ibanez converted an assist from Derwitsch in the second period to give Mount Everett some breathing room.
 
Jonah Swotes made 10 saves for the Eagles, who outshot Newtown, 27-11.
 
Mount Everett travels to Pittsfield to face Taconic on Wednesday.
