SHEFFIELD, Mass. - The St. Mary's boys hockey team broke open a tie game with a big second period en route to a 12-4 win over Mount Everett on Wednesday night.

Gray Duval scored a goal late in the first period to tie it, 1-1, for the Eagles.

But St. Mary's outscored the hosts, 5-1, in the second period and just kept rolling.

"Midway through the second, they began to really move the puck, and we broke down at every level in our offensive zone," Mount Everett coach Aidan Gilligan said. "Give St. Mary's credit for controlling the play throughout the final half of the game."

Andrew Conlon, Jake Corcoran and Matt DiSilva each scored a goal for the Eagles, who got 37 saves from Jonah Swotes.

Mount Everett (1-3-3) will look to snap a two-game losing streak on Monday at Wahconah.
