PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Taconic High School coach and Reid Middle School teacher Jeremy Tetreault was recognized last weekend as the Western Mass Division 3 Wrestling Coach-Of-The-Year.

The award was voted on by all of the other sectional coaches throughout Western Mass.

As a team, Taconic nearly captured the Western Mass Championship in mid-February.  Taconic took perennial Pioneer Valley powerhouse Dean Tech to the final match of the championship round - eventually losing 184-177.

Three student-athletes representing Taconic also took home individual Western Mass Championships in their respective weight divisions.

A member of the wrestling program coaching staff at Taconic for a number of years, Tetreault took over as the team's head coach in early 2014.

"He has solidified the program on and off the mat in his short time, actively mentoring students athletically and academically in an effort to encourage them to maximize their potential, set goals, and create opportunities for themselves," Pittsfield/Taconic Athletic Director Jim Abel said.

Tetreault will take three of his wrestlers to this weekend's All-States Tournament in Salem. Nick Bailey (126 pounds), Isiah Williams (145) and Dave Jones (285) will vie for all-state honors.

Other Berkshire Count wrestlers competing in the two-day event at Salem High School include: Mount Greylock's Jude Rorke (120), Travis Hilchey (138) and Devin Pelletier; Monument Mountain's Mark Leon-Duque (170) and Robert Yvon (195); and Mount Everett's Patrick Fosby (113) and Bradley Lupiani (132).
