Henault, Gian Score Late to Lift Taconic

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Brian Henault and Nikos Gian scored short-handed goals late in the third period to lead the Taconic hockey team to an 8-6 win over Mount Everett on Monday night.
 
Taconic led at the end of the first period, 2-1, and at the end of the second, 4-2. But the Eagles came back to tie it on goals by Adam Corcoran (four goals, two assists) and Brendan Dempsey.
 
Kevin Quinto set up the two short-handed goals that snapped the tie and sent Taconic on to a three-game season sweep of the Eagles.
 
Quinto scored three times for Taconic, which got two goals apiece from Andy Cella and Henault.
 
Aaron Houghtaling got the start in goal for Taconic, which hosts Belchertown on Wednesday. Mount Everett hosts Southeastern Connecticut on Saturday.
