Lenox's Meisberger, Taconic's Gage Lead Teams at Three-Team Meet
CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Lenox’s Shannon Meisberger and Taconic’s Zach Gage each won four events on Tuesday to lead their teams to a pair of dual meet wins in a three-team meet at Hoosac Valley High School.
Meisberger won both hurdles events, the 200 meter dash and the long jump.
In the 100-meter hurdles, she clocked a time of 16.99 to edge Hoosac Valley’s Kayla Garabedian (17.71), and in the 400, Meisberger hit the finish line in 1:09.9, again beating Garabedian (1:16.9).
Meisberger won the 200 in 27.12 to edge Hoosac Valley’s Maddie Vigna (30.78), who won the 100 in 14.15.
In the long jump, Meisberger went 16 feet, 6.5 inches -- 3 feet, 8 inches ahead of the field.
Gage won the 100, 200, high jump and long jump on the boys side.
In three of those events, he edged out teammate Justyn Santiago.
In the 100, Gage went 11.82 to Santiago’s 12.16. In the 200, it was Gage by a margin of 24.79 to 26.2.
In the long jump, Gage went 18-6 while Santiago hit a mark of 16-9.5. And in the high jump, Gage cleared 5-6 to beat Taconic’s Andrew Walchenbach (5-02).
Taconic’s Abdul Ahmed contributed wins in the hurdles and the triple jump.
Lenox’s girls dominated the middle distance and distance events, taking the top four spots in the 800 and the top five in the 1600, led by Emma Jourdain in both events. Lenox’s Nicole Gamberoni also won the 3200.
