Pittsfield, Taconic Track Teams Compete at Division 1 Sectional

FITCHBURG, Mass. -- Pittsfield sophomore Aliyah Bolling placed sixth in the 200 meter dash at the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 1 Championships on Saturday at Fitchburg State.
 
Boling ran a time of 26.88 seconds in the 200 final, won by Minnechaug’s Kyla Hill in 25.44.
 
Taconic’s Lily Lobovits was sixth in the discus with a mark of 89 feet, 1 inch. The title there went to Longmeadow’s Abbie Mokwuah with a throw of 108-11.
 
On the boys side, Taconic freshman Mohammed Ahmed medaled in the triple jump, going 40-11 to finish seventh. Miekkel Murray of Amherst-Pelham won with a mark of 45-1-½.
 
Pittsfield’s Grady Pedersen made the podium in the 110 hurdles, finishing in 15.98 in a final won by Nashoba’s William Cruikshank with a meet record 14.96.
 
Pedersen just missed medaling in the triple jump, placing ninth in 40-5.
