McKenzie Robinson
Hoosac Valley

You never know on any given night who is going to step up to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team in scoring. But you know who is going to be calling the shots for the potent Hurricanes' offense. Senior McKenzie Robinson has been a key contributor on two straight Western Massachusetts championship teams, and she and the 'Canes are poised to make a run at a three-peat. At 11-1, the team already has qualified for the tournament, and the one loss came by three points to a Sabis team that was a sectional finalist a year ago.

On Sunday at Hoosac's annual Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase, Robinson had nine assists in a 19-point win over a well regarded Athol team.

iBerkshires Sports and Capital Region Honda Dealers, including Bedard Honda in Cheshire, will be spotlighting two Berkshire County high school athletes each week, a boy and a girl, who best excelled in their sport or boosted their teams' efforts.
