Duvals Lead Mount Everett Harriers at Hoosac Valley

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Grayson and Cole Duval finished second and third, respectively in Wednesday’s cross country race at Hoosac Valley to lead Mount Everett’s boys to a 27-29 win over Lee.
 
Grayson finished in 18 minutes, 52 seconds, nine seconds off the pace set by Wahconah’s P.J. Pharmer (18:43).
 
Lee’s boys got a fourth place finish from Sebastian Dowd-Smith (19:23) on their way to a dual meet win over the host Hurricanes.
 
In the girls race, Wahconah’s girls took the top three places with freshman Haley Crosier leading the way in 20:56. Juniors Gabrielle Orlando (21:53) and Danielle Orlando (21:57) were second and third, respectively.
 
Hoosac Valley took the next three spots with Jamie Barthe (23:47) in fourth, followed by Natiya Cili and Paige Barrow.
 
Lee seventh-grader Anna Martin cracked the top 10, finishing ninth in 24:47. Mount Everett’s girls were led by Carly Duval (25:53) in 14th place.
 
Girls Team Scores: Hoosac Valley 19, Lee 41; Lee 24, Mount Everett 31; Wahconah 15, Lee 48.
 
Boys Team Scores: Lee 15, Hoosac Valley 50; Mount Everett 27, Lee 29; Wahconah 21, Lee 38.
