Wahconah Unified Team Wins State Title

MILFORD, Mass. — The Wahconah Unified Track and Field team Wednesday captured the Division 2 State Championship at Milford High School.
 
Wahconah earned 105 team points to edge Fitchburg Unified by just five points and improve on last year's runner-up finish at states.
 
Among the individual winners in their respective classes for Wahconah on Tuesday were: T Warren (shot put, 27 feet, 1 inch), Hayden Robb (800 meters, 5 minutes, 38.49 seconds) and Aiden Trager (800, 2:27.95).
 
Wahconah's championship squad also includes: Buddy Clark, Jessica Jones, Griffin Keifer, Tim Therian, Donovan Keegan, Christopher Morin, Dillan Mara, Hannah Robins, Cal Prett, Brock Prett, Topher Golembeski, Helen Jamrog, Brooklyn Pratt and Tony Marra.
 
It was the fourth state championship won by a Berkshire County team in 2019, a run that started with the Mount Greylock girls Nordic team, the Taconic wrestlers and the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team.
