Orlando Sisters Finish 1-2 for Wahconah Cross Country

DALTON, Mass. -- Wahconah’s Danielle and Gabrielle Orlando placed first and second respectively on Wednesday in the cross country meet at Wahconah.
 
Danielle came home in 20 minutes, 51 seconds, about three seconds ahead of her sister.
 
Wahconah placed three more girls in the top 10 at the meet: Katerina Bruce in third and Jessica Houle and Corry Psutka in ninth and 10th, respectively.
 
Pittsfield’s Lessley Columna (20:55) placed third to break up Wahconah’s run at the top.
 
Hoosac Valley’s Jamie Barth (21:35) was fifth and joined by teammates Nataya Cilli (sixth) and Paige Barrow (eigth) in the top 10. Drury’s Brooke DiGennaro was seventh in 22:21.
 
Taconic’s Carli Scolforo led her team with a 16th place showing, finishing in 23:52.
 
Drury senior Connor Meehan won the boys race in 16:47.
 
After him came three Pittsfield Generals: Greg Fournier (17:38), Lucas Godwin and Paul Wales.
 
Taconic’s Ryan Serre (18:04) and Trevor Pelkey were fifth and sixth, respectively. Wahconah senior Dan Brainerd (18:26) cracked the top 10 on Senior Day, placing eighth.
 
Hoosac Valley’s top finisher was Nolan Christen (21:39) in 32nd place.
