Mount Greylock's Brandriss, Wells Earn Places on National Snowshoe Team

WOODFORD, Vt. -- Two Mount Greylock seniors Saturday qualified for the U.S. Junior National Snowshoe team at the National Championships at Prospect Mountian.
 
Owen Brandriss and Lilliana Wells each placed third in the junior 5-kilometer race to earn a spot on the national team.
 
Wells finished in a time of 38 minutes, 31 seconds in a race won by Violet Sullivan of Brentwood, N.H.
 
In the boys 5K, Brandriss sinished in 32:08. Dillon, Colo.'s, Jeremiah Vaille was the winner in 28:28.
 
On Sunday, Wells and Brandriss teamed with fellow Mounties Ric Donati and Jakin Miller to win a 4-by-2.5K relay against teams of all age groups.
 
Brandriss and Wells qualified to compete for the national team at the 2019 World Championships in Italy.
