Mount Greylock Girls Place in 4-by-800 at Coaches Invitational Meet

SHARON, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock girls 4-by-800 relay quartet finished third on Saturday at the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Invitational.
 
Jacqueline Wells, Hazel Scullin, Maddie Albert and Lilliana Wells combined to post a time of 10 minutes, 3.68 seconds. The event was won by Woburn, in a time of 9:43.41 with Norton finishing second in 10:00.83.
 
The Mounties finished ahead of quartets from Amherst-Pelham and Northampton.
 
Ten girls competed at the event for Mount Greylock.
 
In the 800, Lily Wells (2:23.28) and Albert (2:23.82) finished ninth and 11th, respectively. Scullin (2:31.01) and Ella Dudley (2:33.35) finished 26th and 30th.
 
Albert also placed 11th in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 1:09.83.
 
Jackie Wells was 12th in the mile (5:17.67).
 
Kate Swann was 19th in the freshman mile, crossing the line in 5:45.23.
 
In the field, Caroline Hadley placed 23rd in the discus with a throw if 88 feet, 2 inches.
